Something else that makes things difficult is that a large portion of people claim to be making it big and kindly sell you the rights to learn their methods. Unfortunately what is often the case is that they are indeed making large sums of money regularly, but not by the method they sell you. Rather, they make the money by selling the information itself to people that are desperate for money and believe the hype.
What I have noticed time and again is the need for people to see finished products. How it is really done. And while most people will argue that they don't want their ideas stolen, well my opinion on that one is that the guys that really know what they are doing can afford to be transparent anyway. I've met a couple of these marketers along my way, and I can honestly say the "real deals" will share a fair spread of their sites so their students can see what they should be aiming for. In my humble opinion, these guys are the real teachers.
But what if you are trying to make it on your own, without a coach or a mentor or teacher? Where to start?
Well, there is a tool on the market that should help and its called AdSpy from the guys at SEOQuake. Some don't like it, some consider it unethical, others are calling it black hat. Personally, I agree with the sentiments expressed on the blog comments that it is nothing more than leveling the playing field.
Lets say you find a site that you like the look of in terms of a business model. There are so many different ways to make money online that overload is common, so when you find something you feel would work for you, go for it. Load up this tool, and find more of those sites by that publisher. Simple as that. It will let you see how the experts are really doing things, and lets you base your model around it.
Now to be honest, there will be some that will no doubt use this tool to steal other peoples ideas, niches, etc. But IM takes work and effort, and if their business model is based around stealing other people's ideas, they won't last long anyway. And those that do, obviously know what they are doing and would have tools far more sinister than a simple plugin that is freely available. I mean, there are whole forum communities set up to master the world of Black Hat. I hardly think a plugin is going to change their world.
Other uses for this plugin? Here's what SEOQuake has to say:
How does it help?
1. Identify MFA-networks, and ban them in your adwords account.
2. Uncover the secrets of successful webmasters, and learn some tips and tricks based on years of practical experience.
3. Check your own site and see if there is only your adsense code or you’ve been hacked.
4. You can find stolen content or wordpress themes.
Want to know more? or maybe its what you've been looking for! Head over to http://blog.seoquake.com and check out the post. There is a tonne of information from these guys, and they have plenty of other tools to offer as well that should help you in your efforts to make money online.
Just bear this one thought in mind - this is NOT the magic pill. Just because you can see what others are doing, doesn't mean the hard work is done for you. You still need to work and work hard. This may give you a short cut in your research, but there is still no real shortcut to the money. But with tools like this, it will be a heck of a lot easier!
